At the Best Western Hotel Residence Italia we believe that sustainability is not just an option, but a concrete commitment. For this reason, we adopt practices that reduce our environmental impact and promote a more ethical and responsible tourism.
Stay for the Planet by Lifegate
The environment is important to us. This is why we participate in Stay for the Planet, a data hub that supports hospitality facilities in monitoring environmental performance and managing sustainability pathways through the structured collection of quantitative and qualitative data in the following areas: Energy, Water, Waste, Procurement, Behaviours, and People.
Thanks to constant monitoring of consumption, we aim to preserve resources; we rigorously carry out separate waste collection to which we ask you to contribute via the appropriate bins located in the common areas and we raise our guests’ awareness of food, energy and water waste.
Our actions for a greener hotel
Reduction of energy consumption
Our hotel shines… literally! Thanks to the solar panels that cover the facade, we produce over 50% of the energy we use ourselves. Add to that LED lighting and super-efficient air conditioning and you'll get a comfortable stay that respects the environment!
Responsible water management
We pay attention to every drop! We have equipped our bathrooms with flow reducers to avoid waste: if the water seems to flow slowly… don’t worry, it’s just our way of pampering the planet! Furthermore, we only change towels on request, because every little gesture makes a difference.
Plastic reduction
Plastic? Almost zero! Where we can, we prefer biodegradable paper and recyclable materials. Our goal? A world with less plastic and more nature!
Separate waste collection and recycling
Quartu is among the most virtuous cities in waste separation and we don't want to ruin its reputation! For this reason, we raise awareness among guests and staff to dispose of waste correctly. Separating well today means a cleaner tomorrow for everyone.
Breakfast with local products
Here breakfast tastes like Sardinia! We choose, where possible, zero km ingredients and we bake homemade cakes every day. Less transportation, more taste... and zero guilt if you ask for seconds!
Inclusion and social responsibility
We are actively involved in projects that promote work and social inclusion. We collaborate with local organizations such as Anffas, which supports the work integration process for those living in disadvantaged conditions; Killia, which deals with the well-being of people and animals through various services including Pet Therapy and the project for the creation of the Killia Family Home and, finally, with Saspo ASD, which promotes sports activities for those with physical, sensorial or cognitive difficulties, with particular attention to those facing more serious situations.
